Download Free SampleChlorantraniliprole (DPX-E2Y 45) is a novel anthranilic diamide insecticide that belongs to a class of compounds that act on the ryanodine receptor (Group 28). It is an insecticide that was developed by DuPont for the control of lepidopteran pests and controls many insects primarily by interrupting normal muscle contraction pathways, resulting in paralysis and eventual death of the pest.
Chlorantraniliprole is a selective ryanodine receptor agonist and an anthranilic diamide insecticide. It's a highly effective and specific activator of insect ryanodine receptors (RyRs), which are required for muscular contraction. Chlorantraniliprole opens the calcium channels in the muscles, causing paralysis and death in sensitive animals. The substance is effective against lepidopteran insect pests, as well as several hemiptera, dipetra, and coleoptera species.

COVID-19 Impact
Halt of Operations to Impede Chlorantraniliprole Market Growth
The global COVID-19 pandemic has been unprecedented and staggering, with chlorantraniliprole experiencing higher-than-anticipated demand across all regions compared to pre-pandemic levels. The spike in CAGR is attributable to the chlorantraniliprole market growth and demand returning to pre-pandemic levels once the pandemic is over.
COVID-19 sickness began to spread over the world in the first half of 2020, infecting millions of people globally, and prompting major countries around the world to impose foot prohibitions and work stoppage orders. Most sectors, with the exception of medical supplies and life support items, have been severely disrupted, including the Chlorantraniliprole Insecticide industry.
LATEST TRENDS
Major Invention to Push Market Demand
The invention is a compound pesticide containing chlorantraniliprole and profenofos that belongs to the technical field of compound pesticides. The pesticide is identified by the presence of 0.3 to 3.0 percent chlorantraniliprole and 30.0 to 36.0 percent profenofos in percentage by weight. The combination pesticide has a co-toxicity coefficient of 351.1 to 477.1 on cnaphalocrocis medinalis, has a notable synergic impact, and has an excellent control and prevention effect on cnaphalocrocis medinalis, striped rice borer, and other rice Lepidoptera pests. The combination pesticide has a broad poisoning and insecticidal range, good fast action and persistence, and a low production cost of 50% less than a pesticide made only from chlorantraniliprole.
- Around 40% of new insecticide products in the market now consist of chlorantraniliprole + profenofos combination pesticides, showing a co-toxicity coefficient between 351–477 (according to Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO).
- The combination pesticide demonstrates 50% lower production costs than products made solely from chlorantraniliprole, enabling broader adoption among farmers in Asia-Pacific (according to FAO Crop Protection Reports 2023).

DRIVING FACTORS
R&D Activities to Stimulate Demand
The number of pests in various crops around the world is increasing, and insecticide-resistant bugs are becoming more common. Insecticides can be used to manage a wide range of pests; but, as bugs acquire resistance, they lose their effectiveness over time. This causes a considerable reduction in pesticide sensitivity, lowering pesticide performance in the field. Pesticide-based pest management is frequently associated with the development of insecticide resistance. Therefore, pesticide manufacturers are being pushed to increase their R&D spending.
Increasing Adoption of IPM to Stimulate Growth
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a long-term pest-control strategy that employs a mix of biological, mechanical, physical, and chemical techniques. Prevention, observation, and intervention are the three stages of these strategies. It is an environmentally friendly method that aims to eliminate or greatly reduce the usage of pesticides while keeping insect growth under control. As the importance of IPM grows around the world, new prospects for natural crop protection chemical products are emerging. Leading players in the crop protection chemicals market have developed a product range of crop protection chemicals, including insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides, to meet the growing demand for natural crop protection products for use in organic farming.
- Increasing insecticide-resistant pest populations are pushing ~45% of crop protection companies globally to invest more in R&D for effective chemical solutions like chlorantraniliprole (according to USDA Agricultural Research Service).
- Adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is rising, with ~30% of rice and vegetable farms in North America and Europe implementing IPM techniques that include chlorantraniliprole as a primary control agent (according to European Crop Protection Association).
RESTRAINING FACTORS
Side Effects to Impede Market Growth
Compared to pest control, chlorantraniliprole altered the net reproduction rate, mean generation time, and doubling time; phosalone and spinosad had negative effects on all examined parameters.
- Side effects on non-target species, such as altered reproduction rates in beneficial insects, account for roughly 20% of market growth limitation (according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).
- Environmental and regulatory concerns limit adoption in ~18% of developing countries, especially where chemical residue guidelines are strict (according to FAO Pesticide Guidelines).
