RF Over Glass (RFoG) is a technology that combines radio frequency (RF) and fiber optic networks to deliver cable television (CATV) and other broadband services to subscribers. In an RFoG architecture, fiber optic cables are used to extend the reach of the CATV network from the headend (central point where content is distributed) to the subscriber's premises. The RF signals that carry television channels and other services are converted into an optical format and transmitted over the fiber optic infrastructure. At the subscriber's end, the optical signals are converted back to RF signals for distribution within the home.
