Thermal CTP (Computer-to-Plate) is a printing industry technology that is used to produce offset printing plates. This procedure is carried out digitally in CTP. A computer sends a picture file directly to a CTP machine. To selectively expose the printing plate, the CTP machine employs a thermal laser or thermal imaging head. In concept, this is identical to how classic plates are chemically treated with development and fixer solutions, but it's done in a more precise and environmentally friendly manner.
The plate can then be installed on the offset printing press once it has been developed. Ink is normally applied to the image portions of the plate using rollers, then transferred to a rubber blanket before being applied to the printing surface (commonly paper or another substance). CTP provides great precision and detail in image reproduction, resulting in crisper and more colorful prints. Because there is no requirement for chemical processing time, it is a speedier process than traditional plate-making methods.
